DID YOU KNOW?
When you receive Leche Quemada from us, you are receiving it directly from the manufacturer. Most likely it will be received by you fresher than it was at restaurants during your childhood. If you prefer a more "aged" and drier texture, you can cut the candy into smaller pieces and let them air dry outside of the packaging until your desired texture is achieved. Then repackage the candy. If you do not repackage the candy, it will overdry.
Our candy does not contain preservatives. If cared for well, it will be good to eat for approximately 1.5 - 2 weeks from your scheduled pick up date. See care instructions below.
- Close packaging after removing each piece to slow the drying out process and/or to keep it soft, if soft candy is your preference.
- Keep candy out of the heat/sun. Store at room temperature or in refrigerator.
- Do not allow candy to get wet inside packaging.
- To Store Long-Term: place soft, fresh candy in doubled freezer bags (squeeze out excess air) and place in freezer. To defrost, remove freezer bag from freezer and remove candy from freezer bag and allow pieces of candy to defrost at room temperature on a sheet of wax paper or plate for 1-2 hours, then enjoy! Be sure to repackage candy in clean/dry packaging once it is fully defrosted and dry.
RELIVE YOUR CHILDHOOD
Wrap small pieces of candy in squares of wax paper, which will help the drying out process and stiffen the texture.
You can have even more FUN with this by hiding wax paper-wrapped pieces of candy underneath the chips in a basket. 🍬
